It has been about 10 days since our visit to Denver when we lowered the caloric density of Landon's milk/formula and he is doing so much better! He has gotten a lot less fussy with feeds and is even eating a little bit faster than he used to. When Gary brought him home from daycare today he said that he didn't have enough food! That's a good sign that he's finally willing to eat more! A few days after we went up to Denver, he cut his first tooth so that might be part of his reduced fussiness. We knew that tooth had to be in there somewhere! We can already see his 2nd one getting ready to come through too but not sure how long it will take to "pop". He is starting to settle a little faster with his naps- we found a lullaby song on the Veggie Tales Lullaby CD that seems to send him into lala land pretty quickly! That's probably cheating to use a song to get him to sleep instead of rocking him or cuddling but it seems to work even faster.
I think I forgot to mention in the last post that he has starting rolling over (front to back). He still doesn't like being on his stomach very much and if he rolls over once he doesn't want to go back on his tummy. It seems like every day he is more active than the day before! We had a great visit with Papa and Mimi when they were here while Gary was out of town and just a few days after they left our friends Nate and Ashley came to visit us with their 18-month old son Drew. We had a great time visiting Garden of the Gods, going to the St Patricks Day parade and going to the park in our neighborhood.
They just left yesterday and a few hours later I (Allison) came down with the stomach flu! I left work and stayed home today and am feeling a little better now. I'm just ready to spend time with Landon again! I've been keeping my distance to try and keep him and Gary from getting sick, but I think I'll be heading back to work and resuming my motherly duties tomorrow. Gary is an amazing dad to take over all of the nighttime and early morning feeds but I know he is exhausted!

"Wean" on me
We've been busy the last few days! Landon has had a cardiologist appointment, a home health weekly weight check and a follow up appointment at the clinic in Denver between yesterday and today! He had his 4 month check up at the doctor's office last week (complete with shots ) - yes, we know he is 5 1/2 months old but he turned 4 months the week of surgery so we couldn't do his vaccinations then.
He is still gaining weight and growing pretty much on target (almost 15 lbs). He is still in the 10th percentile for height and weight for his age, but he's got a 50th percentile noggin! He is still pretty fussy (it's getting to be beyond "fussy" really) during feeds and starting to freak out when he's tired during the day too. We met with a dietitian today in Denver and based on what we talked about she wasn't really sure what the deal is. We're going to trying lowering the caloric density of his formula (from 26 kcals per ounce to 24) and she gave us a few different formulas to try if that doesn't work initially. We'll be starting him on solid foods soon but she wanted us to figure out what's going on first before we move on to that.
He also did some development testing today using the Bayley Scale. He did pretty well although despite my efforts to feed him at the right time so he'd be happy for it, he managed to only get a 30 minute nap on the way up there so he was pretty cranky by the time we started that. He's pretty on track in most areas and some of the areas he scored lower in could have also been do to him being angry.
As of yesterday we are weaning on the oxygen. So he has to be on it overnight and if he's napping in a separate room during the day but for the most part we can let him go without his oxygen while we're at home or if we're just out running around. We go back to the cardiologist in a month so hopefully at that point he'll tell us that we'll be off it completely.
Gary has been in Las Vegas this week for the Mountain West Conference Basketball Tournament so my parents have been here graciously helping me and enjoying their grandson! (when he's not screaming) We have been so blessed to have so much family be willing to travel to come see us and lend a helping hand! Well that's all I can think of for now- I will try to post some more pics soon!
